Mario runs by himself. You control the jumps dashes and panicked double jumps. One second you are hopping over a pig mob the next you are launched into lava because a TNT block exploded under you. Platforms fall spikes pop up Goombas get replaced by Creepers and nothing makes sense. It is glorious.
Every single run is randomly generated which means you can never memorize the pattern. You either react fast or get wrecked by falling gravel. There is no walking. There is only RUN.

Why It Somehow Still Rules
Because when you finally pull off a 7 jump combo dodging mobs while sliding under a falling platform you feel unstoppable. The coin trail looks beautiful until it betrays you. You chase highscores while the level turns into a cube nightmare.
You rage restart every time. You yell at the screen. Then you beat your last run by two meters and you are a god.
What Your Eyes Will Deal With
The art is blocky chaotic nonsense in the best way. Minecraft textures with Mario colors slapped over them. It is like two pixel dimensions collided and started glitching. Lava pulses the sky flickers mobs blink in and out. It is distracting and perfect.
The music? An unholy fusion of retro Mario beats and Minecraft menu echoes remixed into something that sounds like a fever dream. Somehow you start bopping to it while dodging explosions.
