Ever played a level so weird you wondered if someone built it in their sleep? Now it’s your turn.
Welcome to Super Mario Maker PC, the Platform Builder Game where you’re both the villain and the hero. Design impossible jumps, troll traps, and pixel-perfect platforms—then try to beat your own madness.
What’s the Setup?
There’s no storyline. No princess to save. No mushroom kingdom diplomacy. Just bricks, enemies, and pure creativity.
You drop blocks. Place enemies. Hide coins in midair. Add doors that go nowhere. Then hit PLAY and immediately regret everything.
Two Modes, Infinite Madness
Create Mode – Drag and drop everything from pipes to Thwomps. Make it easy. Make it evil. It’s your world.
Play Mode – Test your own level—or someone else's. Run, jump, cry, repeat.
It’s a loop of trial and error. Build, fail, rebuild. Then watch your friends try it and laugh while they fall into lava.
Tools and Assets
It’s got all the classics: Goombas, Koopas, platforms, spikes, moving blocks, fireballs, question marks, hidden 1-ups, more spikes, and that one enemy you forgot you placed that ruins everything.
You can set level themes—underground, castle, sky, underwater. You can mess with gravity. Add conveyor belts. Add way too many Cheep Cheeps.
It’s easy to use but deep enough to let your inner chaos architect flourish.
Level Design? Or Torture?
Some players create clever challenges. Others build pixel-precision death traps. And a few create pure art out of bouncing shells and timed jumps.
You decide how fair—or cruel—your level is. Want to hide the exit behind a wall of fake blocks? Sure. Want to make a path only visible by bouncing off enemies at exact moments? Go for it.
But be warned: you have to beat your own level to publish it.
Visuals
Classic pixel art style. Everything looks just like you remember—from retro clouds to shiny coins and that weird mushroom that makes you huge.
Animations are smooth. Hitboxes are tight. And every visual detail screams nostalgia.
Sound
Boings, pings, coin jingles, power-up chords—pure 8-bit magic.
Build mode has soft background music to keep your brain in creative mode. Play mode? Music that builds tension as your dumbest design choices come back to haunt you.
